Psychology is the study of the human mind and how it works and develops over time. There are many different types of therapists. A psychologist, in theory, would be a person who studies psychology. So any person with a degree in psychology could be classified as a “psychologist”.
Some types of psychologists would include, but not limited to:
Drug and Alcohol Counselors
Attachment and Bonding Specialists
Licensed Professional Counselors
There are many different types. Most people who choose Psychology as their field of study choose a certain genre of psychology they want to study. Some choose cognitive behavior, which studies the way the brain develops and causes certain behaviors. Some choose child/adolescent psych who study solely young people. Geriatric psychology, which is elderly people. Psychology is such a broad spectrum. There are many different concepts and theories.
