Question by : Does this sound like a food addiction…?
I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. Sometimes, I will find that even if I eat, I’ll still feel this NEED to eat. I mean, it’s a feeling in my brain…like what I would imagine an addict would feel. It’s almost painful and I find myself FEENING for something to eat. I will try to ignore it first, but I’ll eventually give in..and even then, I’ll still feel as though it’s not enough. I’ll continue this until I finally feel too full and I feel extremely guilty. It takes a while before I feel satiated and even if I’ve eaten what SHOULD be enough for me, it continues. Is this an actual food addiction? Eating certain foods brings a feeling of euphoria for me, such as chocolate or spicy food. This is really negatively affecting my life and my body image, and I want to know what’s wrong with me.
The sad thing is I do eat a lot of fruit…and a lot of vegetables. I tend to eat healthy, but something in me seems to scream for something, yet I don’t know what that something is and tend to keep eating different things hoping that one of those things will quiet it. It’s not hunger – it’s something else. It’s like my brain is screaming for a drug.
